When we first got here I wasn’t sure about spending 3 nights but now I really love this place. Today we were planning on spending a quiet day reading and relaxing until it started to get a little too windy to hang around camp. We decided to head over to the visitor center to learn more about this place and avoid the weather. There was a sign for high wind advisory 40+ mph until 8pm. Next we went into town (Overton) to get an ice cream at The Scoop. It seemed to be the town’s hangout place and you could get about anything you wanted there. Back at camp we had to batten down the hatches because the wind was gusty all night. It would go completely silent for a few minutes and then it sounded like a train coming at us before the T@B would get hit by 40 mph winds for a few minutes.  One of the natives said one gust was possibly 70 mph.
